As typical as it may sound but she couldn't have been described any better! The story of a girl who made that chubby boy jump out of the garden wall just to have a glance at the beauty that could even tempt the beast. The pretty face with a smile that often was highlighted with a dimple could sway away a stringent swarm of lovers as if it was honey itself that was drawing those bees towards it! Aah, what a view it could turn out near the lovely garden above which the trees could scatter a glitter of shadow. There she stood with an unattended hair which could complete the painting that the persuasive artist would fancy to finish.
Beauty was never a concern yet something did make it odd! With all the flavours of perfection, she stood by the broken window which had a glass that would never be full. The admirer could question of this little uncertainty that did make it ugly but none could take their eyes off. The shattered glass which was never a scene created by a kid for being a Kohli but it was crooked enough that made it wide without a shape that can define the act. Nobody knew about the cause.
A curious teen with a soft corner for the other made it certain, that the day would be complete if and only if he could see her once. With a fast paced society and high demands, it is tough to sustain a habit but he ensured that he could meet his daily routine. It was his mantra for a year and the world would be on fire if he was to miss out on this. Even a minute at his balcony would be enough to serve as a charm that would make him run for the entire day. It became his basic need to sustain.
One day, he was warned for his act. Another day he was told for his own good that he shouldn't! His grandmother mentioned to keep away for that house was a curse and it was a habitat of someone who didn't belong to the civilized world! He couldn't understand the reason for he has seen her ever since he started school. He couldn't question because the world around has hastily told him that nothing was to be mentioned again! He wondered and fought with his own consciousness but could never find an answer.
Years went by and the chubby fat boy had grown into a smart looking creature. Life had taken him to places and time had changed him in the best possible manner. Education, work and further feathers of success had already made his bag full. Married, settled in the best metros the world has known. Far away from the garden that made his day better.
He always meant to return and return he did to his old place. A trip by the garden was highly unlikely yet fate is, as it is said, is unpredictable. He went to the balcony where he had spent hours once. It was the same garden at the other side with still the same trees bearing a shadow over the opposite dwelling. He immediately recalled his daily routine and how it had been back then. The same old chap but with a different mindset altogether yet he couldn't resist the desire to relive the moment that once made him live. A wait was on the cards but all he could see was the slow shift of shadows to darkness. He thought of asking but couldn't as he remembered what he was once warned about. Life had definitely changed over time but he found himself at the same place once again, wondering about the girl at the broken window.......
