The Unfinished Dreamer

The lonesome greenery, the shoddy dusty roads and the unending run of farm fields. The lap time wasn't recorded at this point when he started. This was the starting point with nothing more than a hope to live a simple life like all the other lads of his locality. Thy grandmother believed that he will end up playing on her lap for her entire lifespan, his mother with the typical thought that he will grow up to be somebody someday, a virtuous father with millions of expectations that his son will achieve all that he couldn't achieve, and then a million more to follow from the entire community that surrounded him. The story of a young lad that could be heard from miles.

Every dream has a start and to win it someday, the point is always zero. So his zero was near which he had the courage to bear. Expectations from all around had drowned him in a scenario that life had no other paths to follow yet it was enough to get him going and so he did. Life never took a toil on him and he followed the expectation driven path blindly.

A good lad with good enough grades and fair enough exposure with a fair share of luck, saw the green fields being replaced by the busy metropolitan. It wasn't too far to be distressed and life somehow went on. Things were rosy and the new dimension greeted him with lots of new endeavors. From an average chap, the transformation was immense and he turned into an excellent being in his new community. The special one with lots of stories to tell and enormous impact to spread. He didn't disappoint any and the success story just seemed to start with his previous accomplishments in a hurry to disappear. Everything was bread and butter for him and a simple township lad was ruling the crowd of the metro.

Years passed by and the fortunes were no less than golden when he finished with brilliant figures and the finest future among the lot. His options were obvious and it pushed him to a new door where he was knocking the gates of a new horizon which was ruling the planet. It was a leap which could only take him higher, much higher than what his natives believed. The dream was now his and yet it wasn't the end of the road. The gamified life had unlocked him new difficulty levels in which he had nothing but a zero to start with all over again.

The hot summer saw his departure and a cool run of breeze his arrival. Far far away from the ones who had set his goals once and now he had his own goals to set. The scenario changed like anything and inspite off making quick impacts in his new world, he felt devoid. Life seems to have halted and nothing seemed to be rosy. The glow was lost and the happy looking lad with a sweet smile was lost somewhere. The absence of his goal setters affected him and the effects were not to be missed. He achieved everything yet he still had miles to go before he could sleep. Frost was somewhere repeating his words and he had nothing other than to wait and flow with which he had flown all this years with only one single difference, that he had no idea about where he was heading towards. Tennyson had succeeded Frost with the brook tending to go on forever............

For men may come and men may go,
But I go on for ever.

The Brook, Lord Alfred Tennyson

Subconscious

Years back, a piece of art pierced my heart. Wordsworth mentioned the effectiveness of a song and how it never leaves us regardless of the language, origin or location. It is our subconscious which never lets go off it's tune. It was the solitary reaper that made him feel so. Definitely, a sweet voice often touches our heart and remains within us forever but what about the written word? Does it have the similar effect as that? Wordsworth didn't mention that! Well he mentioned about the song coming in like the arrow and piercing his heart.

The Impatient Patient

We are often horrified, terrified, petrified by whats coming up but we do not realize wat really is there in the store for us. A few months back I couldn’t have thought about a night which would make me wait for someone. Life brings forward such instances when you can’t but grow, and growth never means developing and progressing in a straightforward manner but it often simplifies us down to a simple fact that “We have more life left in us for someone else than our ownselves”! And that very moment one comes in terms with the ultimate view that life really has a meaning. Change is good if we can believe in it and I, over the last couple of months have changed. Changed in which I believe in. Change that has inculcated the thought that I can live for somebody.

I am definitely not the sitting down types and nobody has ever seen me idle. But too much of reaction brings in a subtle imbalance in normal lives which basically proved to be the reason for my life to be in such disarray. Life after 25th July has changed. I sit idle for hours just in thoughts of a person who sits miles away from me, waiting for me. Punctuation wise, this couldn’t have been any worse but I have to rely upon that girl to make this straight and right. Just like this little piece of article needs her help, so does my life. Behind every successful man there is a woman and I certainly seem to have find mine. The impatient patient has found a meaning and loves to wait, because the cure to his dismay has already arrived and he has found solace with time already.

Leap year of the leaped generation

You might have come across a tradition from Ireland! Yes, the one from Leap Year!!! Yes yes where a girl can propose a boy and the boy cannot say a no according to the customs! Now one might look forward to the authentication of such a custom and would like to go forth for one such plan with a leap year knocking at our doorstep but the ultimate scenic state would be to delve into the inner sweetness which instigated us in doing so.

We surely have come a long way from the days of Romeo and Paro!!! oopss..... Juliet..... Now taking into account the Indology edition of this Irish tradition, whats better than to look for the mighty Devdas. If the character of "Devdas", in the great novel could have accepted Paro's wish against his parent's will, the story would have been different. To be realistic, there wouldn't have been any story for Sarat Chandra Chattopadhdyay at all. Now, keeping aside the funnier note, we really have come a lot far from those days and it is no more about the parental advice which affects a relationship status to turn against its own presence. The common question for every friend whom we meet after a long time would intersect at the same point and its nothing other than the sweet little column from the "About" section of every Facebook profile. Well lets be frank, I have heard the same from three different people today, and all of whom according to me were missing from my life till yesterday!! With due respect, the theory behind this remains unsolved.

Without diverting much, lets dive down the tradition which has so much to say on its own. Anyway it is the job of a guy to put forward the stepping stone nowadays with ample instances with a different story altogether. If this hints at the stepping stone, then the availability or necessity of a follow up becomes important and many have suggested that the depth of any relationship can be measured by a kiss, if not a slow start with a few dates resulting in the same. Life seems all easy peasy japanesey with a touch of a butter marmalade. It's all silky smooth and we certainly wish to carry it on for a mere period of 25-30 years before taking the heavenly express. A world of wonderland at our feet.

"We often wake up at the stroke of an hour, wake up from a beautiful dream and curse our luck." These exact words reflected from many of the old timers when the grandfathers' clock would sound a big dong every hour affecting their nice little break from reality. With time, those huge wall clocks are gone. People have a sound sleep without a distraction but time has indeed found its way of waking us up with some kind of an upheaval in human civilization. The wonderland is a boring place to visit if we tend to travel the same routes everyday. Happiness limits its reach and somewhere time has made the dong for us again. The blame game is the last step for the story and 29th february isn't the most appreciated day any further.

Moving on, we are content and believe in being ourselves. The four letter word is a bitter thing now and the wait for the next leap year sounds worthless with the mightiest of fears of following another blind alley. Trust signifies bonds but trust lost on one self is a different context altogether. The world itself seems to be a wonderland being alone. Time passes by and the old wounds heal leaving the concept of "Forever Alone" pretty far from visibility. A different 29th february seems convenient and before one can actually realize, the seeds of a new wonderland have already been planted and the leap on any non-leap year day has already been made by the leaper of the leaped generation.

Media : Vice that didn't exist

Human Civilization has a very complicated relationship with the word "Development" and tries to walk hand in hand with a simple notion that progress cannot be achieved without the mainstream implementation of the upgraded technology that we are handed as gadgets everyday. This article comes up behind a strong incident where a lady has a simple phrase to defend her act of watching telly all the time. A mere phrase,"what else are we gonna do?" has so much to claim behind a typical generation that she being in her 40s, has nothing to do other than watching telly.

Being a kid from the 90s has given me the opportunity to witness the proper transition from loving "Charlie Chaplin" to worshiping "Chota Bheem" and it gets tough to get acquainted with the selection criteria that has altered in such a diversified manner. The rate of transformation has been so intense that being updated technically and psychologically has become two different sides of a coin yet continue to govern the same principles of livelihood. Improvising the psychological aspects of the mob, we have a flamboyant picture of how the role of media has intensified the thought process of common man. Without being judgmental, the entire scenario holds up a bizarre outlook for the future.

Coming back to the incident, it grew up on the basis of a simple news channel which were broadcasting some news related to our education system. The matter was definitely of utmost significance but carried little or no connection at all between the reality and how it was put up. Watching it were 3 people, belonging to the age group of 40s, 50s and 70s respectively with a pretty high level of concentration. Accepting it was far from my conscience and took hardly any time to show my reluctance in watching the same with a simple query to the viewers, "Why do you watch this shit? Infact, why to watch telly all the time?". The mere phrase that I heard in return is aforementioned and to my surprise, they were irritated with the question!

That particular news had nothing special separately, as my vacations have given me a taste of media being in the firing line on three different topics and how they control the mob with a particular topic with no significance at all. And bringing the psychological aspect, it is more surprising to observe the reaction of our society to such news. They see it 24*7, eat it, live on it and basically sleep over it forgetting the ultimate reason behind tuning up a news channel! People end up listening to views and miss out on the news itself! Instead of deciding upon the news, they accept it. The days for a 15 to 30 minutes news in an entire day are long gone with the advent of technology and somewhere took the independence of self scrutinizing of headlines away with it.

If news are one criteria of evaluation of what television has done, then soaps and other celebrity shows their dominance and how they occupy the major part of a common man's evening. The current common man delves into the depth of being a couch potato than serving itself a cup of tea with a neighbor or maybe indulging into some creative aspect that it might be good at! Development has outspoken for human kind and somewhere the lazier side of technological development has outlined the positive parts of the same. Enough has been said and this article couldn't be concluded with a better point that the mob is guided by the media now and they seem to have the wits and pathos of Mark Antony yet a handful amount of people like us still keep tinkering with the fact that this vice should never have existed.................

My Mother at 17C Swinhoe Street

I looked back at her and there she was..... full of tears....... She couldn't bear the fact that she was probably seeing me for the last time. A meeting was never on the cards for atleast four years if not more. She had tears which I was supposed to wipe and the reasons being me, myself! How contradictory was the overall situation in context of the present world. It has been 5 hours since the incident took place and it has pretty much kept my subconscious busy over time.

Relationships in the 21ist century have become so void of their true meaning that we often question our liabilities presented to us by our ancestors. Relations nowadays, are such loose strings attached with the slightest threshold that there is a chance of breaking down when the lightest of efforts are applied to them. People often question the importance of those who fed them for atleast 3 of the 7 stages of life. The concept of nuclear family has completely drowned the presence of the joint culture that our country was once famous for. Blood is no more the criterion for distinguishing two people as brothers. An upheaval of tremendous intensity has ruined this civilization. Papers speak more than blood when it comes to relations and we all are more or less affected by it.

My childhood has given me enough reasons for not considering anybody as my own. Without going into the depth of those times, I would like to sum up with the fact that it took a death to enable me to meet my cousin after 17 years. The middle class society is gifted with more or less similar kind of stories and these continue to be a part and parcel of life where an aunt's biggest happiness would be to see her nephew sick. Blood was the mode of selection of relatives only in the case of my parents and this childhood has haunted me ever since I developed a bit of maturity.

A steady life often proves to be poisonous and it took a relocation to change a life. Kharagpur became Kolkata and locality turned into Swinhoe Street which marked the start of a new era. It was 16th July 2012. A new city, new people, new friends and some new perspectives were the building blocks of a new life but when it rolled down to relations, it dwelled with the past to accept one. Made lots of contacts, came in touch with all sorts of people, became a lot close to some whereas explored the new life with the rest but never created a bond of any kind.

Time hurries away and we often wonder whether it was yesterday that we started a certain thing! It did the same in my case and it was a morning which was no less than 5 hours ago when I felt a different sense of attachment! It was a bond that rose to power over the course of my stay. I bowed down to seek her blessings and was in a hurry to seek another from my landlord but I couldn't move. She was holding my hands tightly. All I could see on her face were tears rolling down her cheek. The lady who had scolded me many a times during the last 3 years looked feeble. I went back and hugged her and tried to console her as much as I could. I came down the stairs and the time for my departure was a few minutes away. I looked back at her and there she was..... She was full of tears....... She couldn't bear the fact that she was probably seeing me for the last time. A meeting was never on the cards for atleast four years if not more. She had tears which I was supposed to wipe, the reasons being me, MYSELF! Blood wasn't the link between us yet how closely were we both related.

I boarded the vehicle and in a while could feel the momentum. The vehicle rattled past the alley and I saw her the last time and probably won't see her for years to come. I was frozen on the back seat with only one thought that somewhere I didn't just make any relation during the last 3 years but found a mother in her altogether at 17C Swinhoe Street.

Long gap of longivity

This precisely marks another long gap since I posted anything in this blog. It appeared to me a number of times that I have been ignorant about certain things, perhaps this blog, or maybe too caught up with the turn of events which have influenced my life that I have nearly snapped my connections with a handful of important things which I consider myself to be a part of. Having said that, I barely know how things can be ammended back but will put in every effort to neutralize every sphere. Gaps are certain but getting frequent gaps isn't a good practice..... :p

Survival : We choose our Tomorrow

Life means freedom, Life means wisdom, Life means gift, Life has a simple objective for all yet in a diversified way altogether. But do we really know what it really is! I guess most people define there life as a mysteriously cooked piece of tomato soup with the absolute absence of sweetness. With reference to my last post there is much more to be added rather than holding of with what I have already said. This tiny bit of article shall never be equal to any of those moments which my today's subject has faced in his life but definitely can be of some sort of indicator to the fact that "Not being a CRYBABY" can actually help.

We blame, we point, we accuse, we lie and save our ass everyday. We can cry and wish to die when life has stopped smiling at us, we repent and find reasons to support our failure and initiate a loop against all that made us loose. That's human nature! We all do it proudly and once its the last step of the ladder, more or less we choose to bid "Goodbye" to the world and that's where it all ends.

The story sublimes to a mere artifact of Survival! The fact that marks Human Civilization! The fact that Darwin was absolutely right! The fact that has somehow evaporated from the minds of common man. Its the story of a man who lived for 127 hours inspite of having not more than 350-400ml of water, it is the story of a man who lived for 5 days alone in the Great Grand Canyon with just two Baritoes for meeting his hunger, it is a story of a man who ended up cutting his own hand inorder to escape his ugly fate which without a doubt meant death for any other person on Earth! It is about Aron Ralston who lives to see "127 Hours" instead of peeping through the clouds of Heaven. He lives inspite of all he faced!

Ralston mentioned that what he was facing was because of his own deeds as he could have been rescued much earlier if he would have informed somebody about his whereabouts. And his escape at the same time depicts his courage where he just could have cried to death like most others. The only difference is that he didn't! A referral is the best way to know more and here goes the way :

Life never stopped for him and similarly Life never stops for us! It goes on like the brook. We are solely responsible for our present and we ourselves will walk the path to our future and if anyone is to be blamed for our mishaps, then it's just us! The growth of a civilization marks its development and mankind has never met a rival who is so apt and able that can alter their past or destroy its present and still continues to be the one who is logical enough to thrive by choosing the righteous Tomorrow.

Crybaby : Forgetting the ultimate objective

I saw a post in facebook a while ago. A post by one of my so called friends against an institution to which we both are stuck. The word "stuck" often has a different meaning for people and can affirm repent for some whereas rejoice for the other with a completely different perspective. Relinquishing life with that word would never be on the wishlist of any but the dark side always chooses to have a larger sum. It would be worthless to mention that this post is an issue about the dark side but it mught just be fruitful to highlight that this won't be a word against anything, yet it might object about the most terrible feature of mankind, FAULTFINDER.

Yup, the feature reads "faultfinder". The general thesaurus used by me for official purpose put forward a numerous options to select upon a proper word for somebody who complains which included troublemaker, fusser, faultfinder..... and so on. But the most apt word to me was "CRYBABY". Lets say that it describes that quality the best.

Life is a long journey and there is a huge mountain to climb until we reach the peak. Choice, thoughts, views, maturity, belief, emotions..... influences us in determining what we are gonna be tomorrow. But is it not true that these factors influence us all and yet you might have come across a classroom from the past which has produced a doctor and at the same time a group-D clerk! Is it not that an Albert Einstein differs from some Bill Gates, yet considered as the greatest pioneers of all time which our mother Earth has ever produced! What made them differ from the others, yet achieve the peak of success when others were still hoping to get a glance of the mighty sky?

It sounds a bit complex when thinking about "being stuck" and "why gates became a billionaire" at the same time but has a very distinctive and a very well-knitted answer.

When we talk about sustenance and survival, the first thought that strikes us is none other than, "The most fittest and finest will survive, others will perish". It remains the most significant statement about any civilization and is the ultimate funda of this article. Einstein never crossed school properly and ran away in fear of history and yet continues to be the one who gave one of the most important theories of all time! A Bill Gates did everything to ensure that he could quit Harvard and do something more and so we know about a Microsoft today. A guy named Steve Jobs created a company for making personal computers in order to compete with IBM(he considered them to be his biggest enemy), when he had nothing as such and yet laid forward an art which still leads the market as the most innovative technological organization and calls it Apple. They were different but they were similar in one way, that is they never lead a stereotype life and more of all they never complained or rather they had nothing to complain about as they built their own empire depending upon themselves. If they were axed, it was always because of something they did rather than being a chicken because of some other guy's fault.

The ultimate objective was always to lead their own life rather than following orders or being dependent on others. Jobs was fired by a person whom he himself brought in and yet he was not stuck with his situation of being another common man and continued with other objectives of being in the right flank. The main objective was to stick around with his life and he did it in style. He was stuck with a situation and yet continued to fight.

We might be in any sort of situation and under a lot of pressure but we should never bow down to it. The moment we do it, the very moment we start depending on others and that very moment we start complaining. But we should never forget that a baby is spoon fed only when it is young and never to expect such favour for a lifetime and that too from others. Because none can be YOU while getting a thing done. Blaming is nothing but an excuse and that is the only reason that ensures a failure and then one is doomed forever. Being stuck is rather pleasing when we do those things by ourselves and complete it successfully and it is beyond doubt that the above mentioned names have felt the same too.

The post by my friend was nothing but another blame which covers his failure. But by diving in and exploring the depth, one might find the author of this post who has a different story to tell about the same where he has been recruited by two best companies in the world with full scholarship for masters program from one of the best colleges in the world. He dreamt about the best, planned for the worst and trusted none but himself and that made the difference. Well, to dig it further, we have an ex-roommate of my friend from his previous institution, who at present happens to study in Kharagpur IIT and is one of the top notch students there. They both stepped on the same ladder with the same external pulls but they seem to have landed in distant grounds after a time period of 5 years. This article is not about boasting about miracles done by Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or Einstein but to profound the true nature of Darwin's Theory for existence and the last two being normal, and having a much lesser intelligence than the three above mentioned greats have shown that being a complaint box doesn't solve our problems but makes them worse.

Success knows no bounds and at the same time accepts no excuse!

You may browse upon the above link for describing such people like my friend, but I still believe that mine remains the most accepted one and no other words can be as apt as a "CRYBABY".

"Hey Baby, If you keep crying then you can never succeed!"
